Scrunchies are back!

I’m an 80’s baby, so I remember scrunchies from back in the day. Recently, they’ve come back in style with a fun, modern twist!

Take 10 minutes out of your day and whip up an gorgeous, easy, silky smooth air accessory custom to you!

Making time: ~10 minutes

Materials needed:

  • Yarn, bulky weight, ~15-20 yds - in this tutorial, I used Bernat Velvet in Blush Pink and Blackbird

  • Crochet hook appropriately sized for your yarn weight - I used a 6.5 mm

    • I prefer metal hooks (mine are these!) but plastic works just as well!

  • Elastics - I used Goody’s Ouchless No Metal hair ties in Black for dark yarn and Beige for lighter yarnScissors

  • Scissors

  • Tapestry needle

Dress Up your Ponytail

Let’s be real, I’m not known for beautiful hair. In fact, this is my normal, everyday “I haven’t washed my hair yet and brushing it takes too much effort”

But with a scrunchie I can still have some fun with it! You don’t need to be a hair model, just a crocheter!

I lift up my head, tie my hair high and ready for another battle each morning.
